Origins
The Basque Paper Cluster was begun as a non-profit association in April 1998. A group of Companies, with the cooperation of the Basque Government, decided to join together to boost competitivity among pulp and paper Companies.
Mission
The mission of The Basque Paper Cluster is to work as an agent for members companies, promoting and coordinating all the necessary actions to promote improvement. These actions are based on co-operation among different companies in the sector defending common interests.
The mission of the Basque Paper Cluster is to listen to the needs of members, identify sinergies among companies in the sector, improving support the setting up and monitoring of co-operation projects

Structure of the Cluster
The General Assembly of the Paper Cluster is the highest decision making body of the Association. It is composed of the founder members and full members. The Directing Board of The Basque Paper Cluster is the highest executive body, it is made up of representatives chosen by the General Assembly of the member Companies.
There are four working committes, each dealing with
one key line: Quality and Management, Internationalization, Environment
and Technology.
